As per reports, the Icelandic Meteorological Office (IMO) issued yellow weather alerts for heavy rainfall across Southeast Iceland and the Central Highlands from 1900 hours local time on Tuesday (29 September) (1900 hours UTC on 29 September) to 0800 hours local time on Wednesday (30 September) (0800 hours UTC on 30 September).
Moderate to severe rainfall is expected, which is expected to lead to increased runoff, rising water levels in rivers and streams, and heightened risk of flash floods and landslides in the affected regions.
