The Japanese Meteorological Agency (JMA) issued level II yellow alerts for heavy rainfall and landslides at 1901 hours (local time) in several areas across parts of Japan on Wednesday (26 August).
The conditions are forecast to remain unstable until Friday (28 August).
• The following areas have been issued both level II yellow heavy rainfall and landslide alerts: In Tohoku- the Nakadori and Hamadori regions in Fukushima Prefecture, the northern region of Tochigi Prefecture, the Mino region of Gifu Prefecture and in Ishikawa Prefecture- the Noto region.
• The following areas have been issued only level II yellow heavy rainfall alerts: In Nagano Prefecture- the Central region, in Aichi Prefecture- the Western region, in Ishikawa Prefecture- the Kaga region, In Fukuoka Prefecture- the Fukuoka region and in Saga Prefecture- the Southern region.
• The following areas have been issued only level II yellow landslides: In Kagoshima Prefecture- the Amami Region and in Okinawa Prefecture- the North, Central and Southern Main Islands.
