The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued the following Forecast and Nowcast warnings for Uttarakhand on Friday (11 September), as per the District-wise forecast PDF documents issued at 1800 hours (local time) on Thursday (10 September).
• Forecast: A yellow alert has been issued for heavy rainfall at isolated places, thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and intense to very intense spells of rainfall for Chamoli, Dehradun, Haridwar, Pauri Garhwal, Rudraprayag, Tehri Garhwal, Uttarkashi, Almora, Bageshwar, Champawat, Nainital, Pithoragarh and Udham Singh Nagar on Friday (11 September).
• Nowcast: An orange alert has been issued for moderate rainfall and intense to very intense spells of rainfall, along with light thunderstorms and winds of less than 40 kilometres per hour for Chamoli, Pauri Garhwal, Rudraprayag, Tehri Garhwal and Dehradun, valid till 0400 hours (local time) on Friday (11 September).
• Nowcast: A yellow alert has been issued for light to moderate and intense spells of rainfall, along with light thunderstorms and winds of less than 40 kilometres per hour for Haridwar, Uttarkashi, Almora, Bageshwar, Champawat, Nainital, Pithoragarh and Udham Singh Nagar, valid till 0400 hours (local time) on Friday (11 September).
