The Jakarta Provincial Government issued an extension to the Distance Learning period (PJJ) for all educational units due to the presence of persistent volcanic ash from Mount Anak Krakatau on Monday (07 September).
The decision was taken as volcanic activity was still high at Mount Anak Krakatau and while conditions were improving, the presence of ash particles was still high in the affected areas. The closure covers both public and private schools from kindergarten to senior high schools and equivalent levels.
• Distance learning activities have ensured classes are still on for students as institutions use platforms like Zoom, Google Meet, Google Classroom and coordinate activities and operations through WhatsApp groups.
