Weather forecast across Spain on Wednesday (02 September)

As per reports, the State Meteorological Agency (Agencia Estatal de Meteorología, AEMET) has forecast high temperatures, rainfall, thunderstorms with hailstorms and very strong wind gusts, fog and haze across several areas of Spain on Wednesday (02 September).

• Maximum temperatures of up to 40 degrees Celsius are forecast in the Córdoba countryside, Morena and Condado in Jaén, and Seville from 1300 hours local time (1100 hours UTC) to 2059 hours local time (1859 hours UTC).
• Maximum temperatures of up to 39 degrees Celsius are forecast in Cazorla, Segura and the Guadalquivir Valley in Jaén, while temperatures of up to 38 degrees Celsius are forecast in Sierra, Pedroches, Subbética, Cordobesa, Aracena, Andévalo, Condado, Guadiana Valley, Sierras de Alcudia, Madrona in Ciudad Real, Tagus Valley in Toledo, and Vegas del Guadiana in Badajoz.
• Temperatures of up to 36 degrees Celsius are forecast in Lleida, and the Coast of Huelva, while up to 35 degrees Celsius is forecast in Lleida Pyrenees and Serranía de Cuenca.
• Rainfall of up to 15 millimetres in one hour is forecast in Guadix and Baza in Granada, Cazorla and Segura in Jaén, Gúdar and Maestrazgo in Teruel, and northwest Murcia, while up to 20 millimetres in one hour is forecast in the northern interior of Castellón from 1400 hours local time (1200 hours UTC).
• Thunderstorms are forecast in Guadix and Baza in Granada, Cazorla and Segura in Jaén, Gúdar and Maestrazgo in Teruel, La Mancha and Alcaraz and Segura in Albacete, northwest Murcia, and the northern interior of Castellón from 1400 hours local time (1200 hours UTC). The thunderstorms are forecast to be accompanied by hailstorms and very strong wind gusts.
• Very strong easterly wind gusts are possible around the Strait of Gibraltar and the Alborán coast, while morning fog banks are likely in northern areas, the southeastern interior and the Balearic Islands. Haze is also expected in Alborán, southeastern Spain, the Balearic Islands and the eastern Canary Islands.
