• UK: As of Sunday (30 August), UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) received a delayed report of a tanker being struck while transiting inbound through the Strait of Hormuz, approximately 12 nautical miles (22 kilometers) north of Khasab, Oman. The timing of the incident has not been disclosed. Authorities are investigating the incident, with no casualties or environmental impact reported.
• Türkiye, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia: The first meeting of the Strategic Political and Defence Committee, established under the Mecca Joint Defence Agreement signed by Turkiye, Pakistan, and Saudi Arabia, is scheduled to be held in Istanbul on Monday (31 August), according to a Turkish Foreign Ministry statement.
• Yemen: As of Sunday (30 August), Yemeni government announced that its navy seized a shipment of military components and equipment in the Red Sea on 24 August, alleging that the cargo was being supplied by Iran to Houthi forces. Additionally, Yemeni forces reported destroyed a Houthi-operated drone boat in a pre-emptive strike in the Red Sea, claiming the vessel was neutralised before it could be used to attack maritime traffic.
• US, Iran: On Sunday (30 August), US forces reportedly conducted an airstrike against two Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) rocket launchers on Iran’s Larak Island. The launchers were allegedly preparing to fire missiles carrying naval mines towards the Strait of Hormuz. US forces remain on heightened alert and are monitoring the area, with officials stating that they are prepared to protect maritime traffic through the waterway.
• Iran, Lebanon: Lebanon as of Sunday (30 August), welcomed Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi’s stated intention to strengthen relations with the Lebanese government, reaffirming Beirut’s commitment to maintaining positive relations with all countries, including Iran. He reiterated Iran’s support for the Lebanese people and Lebanon’s territorial integrity, national sovereignty and independence during a meeting with Sheikh Ali al-Khatib, deputy head of Lebanon’s Supreme Islamic Shia Council, in Tehran on Saturday (29 August).
• Iran: Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) reported that a US attack on Larak Island on Sunday (30 August) resulted in several Iranian military personnel and civilians being killed or wounded, according to reports. The IRGC did not provide a specific casualty figure but vowed to respond and hold those responsible accountable.
